Echoes of Nowruz: Tehran's Melodic Market

This is a short music video capturing the atmosphere of the Iranian New Year—Nowruz—in the markets of Tehran, Iran's capital city. The music is composed entirely from ambient sounds captured in the video footage. Needless to say, the biggest challenge in creating this video was discovering a rhythm and melody within these ambient sounds. For many Iranians, the ambient sounds featured in this video are iconic, instantly evoking memories of the year's final moments and the arrival of the New Year.
